Here are some ways to reach the 100 Mile goal:
*The average amount of time it takes to walk a mile is just 15 – 20 minutes. Try walking before work, on your lunch break, or after dinner.
*Join our Saturday morning walks at 8:30am at various locations in Santa Fe (These walks will be announced on this website and on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/aspenwellness.care)
*If the weather is too cold, windy, rainy, or hot, you can walk inside the Santa Fe Place Mall. From one end to the other is 0.5 miles. (The Mall opens at 7:00am for walkers Monday-Saturday before stores open. On Sunday it opens at 11:00am.)
*Pick your favorite park and walk around it a few times. For both the Railyard Park and Frenchy’s field, 3 times around = approximately 1 mile.
*Walk around a track.
Salvador Perez park has a great one around the football field.(4 times around = 1 mile.) If you prefer walking indoors, the Chavez Center indoor track.(10 times around = 1 mile.)
*Walk on a treadmill at a gym or in your home.
*Walk to a local store to do an errand that you would normally do by car.
*Walk your dog!
*Join a community fundraiser walk such as the Wood Gormley 5K Panther Run/Walk.
For Your Comfort and Safety
*Remember to always be careful and alert when walking.
*If you are wearing headphones, keep the volume low enough so you can still hear traffic.
*WATER!
*Consider sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, lip balm, and comfortable shoes
