How much does acupuncture cost?
At Aspen acupuncture treatments cost $35. More than one issue can be addressed per treatment. We accept cash cash and credit cards.
Will I be treated in a group setting?
Your acupuncturist used to practice “community style” acupuncture. However, in her new location, all patients will be seen in their own private space. If you would like to be treated side by side with a friend or loved one, that is easy to arrange.
How does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is part of system of medicine that developed in China over 3000 years ago. At its foundation is the concept of “Qi” or “Chi”, the body’s energy. When Qi is not flowing smoothly through the body or when it is deficient in some part of the body, the result is pain, disease, mental or physical imbalance, and delayed healing. Extremely thin needles are placed along the pathways where Qi travels (these pathways are called “meridians” or “channels”) to move, increase, and restore balance the body’s energy.
What does acupuncture feel like? (Does it hurt?)
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin and receiving acupuncture is usually painless. Occasionally, there is slight discomfort. If a needle is uncomfortable we will remove it. We want you to be as comfortable as possible so please let us know how you are feeling.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes. Single-use, sterile needles are used once and then properly disposed of. Your licensed acupuncturist has extensive clinical experience.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments will vary from person to person and depends on many individual factors. Every person is unique! Acupuncture is a therapy, and adhering to a recommended course of treatment will allow you to achieve the best results for your condition. However, you can use the following as a general guide:
- Acute or mild conditions may take 3-5 treatments
- Chronic or severe conditions may take 10-20 treatments
- General health maintenance or stress reduction: 2-4 treatments per month
Is acupuncture good for prevention?
Absolutely! Many patients chose to receive acupuncture weekly to boost the immune system or manage normal stress even if they don’t have any other health problems. Keeping Qi flowing is always good!
What forms of payment does Aspen Wellness accept?
We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover. We do not accept insurance for acupuncture but our fee of $35 is lower than most insurance co-pays.
